Setting the tone
Welcome to Intern Insights, a Qincade blog series where I’ll be sharing my journey through digital marketing and international business one post, one lesson, and one quote at a time.
As a lacrosse player, I’ve learned that tone is everything. Whether you’re stepping onto the field or into a boardroom, the way you show up sets the tone for what comes next. This blog focuses on establishing tone through insights, strategies, and stories that can help you scale your operations and sharpen your global mindset. For that reason, each blog will begin with a quote to set the tone for the blog and ideally for the rest of your day.
From the sports field to the World

My name is Tony Diallo, and lacrosse has taken me across countries and cities from San Diego to Medellín, Limerick to Nottingham. As a proud member of the Jamaica National Lacrosse Team and a former Division I athlete at UMBC, I’ve experienced firsthand how sport can shape the way we think, lead, and market across cultures.
Now, as a digital marketing strategist intern and international business student, I’m applying those lessons to the world of global commerce, and I want to bring you along for the ride.
What can you expect?
Each blog post in this series will begin with a quote that sets the tone for the topic at hand. I’ll be diving into:
· Marketing insights that matter
From consumer behaviour to campaign strategy, I’ll share insights that can help you connect with audiences across borders. I’ll speak about my personal accomplishments and failures, and about what I have learned about digital marketing so far.
· Lessons from International Business
Expect frameworks like PESTLE, STP, and the 7Ps, but grounded in real-world applications drawn from my academic and athletic experiences.
· Lacrosse as a lens
Sport has taught me leadership, adaptability, and cultural fluency. I’ll demonstrate how these same principles apply to business.

· Bite-sized, actionable content
This isn’t just theory for theory’s sake. It’s practical, digestible, and designed to help you grow whether you’re a student, an entrepreneur, or a marketing professional.
Join the journey
This is just the beginning. I invite you to follow me as I share what I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about navigating the world of digital marketing and international business through the lens of sport, strategy, and storytelling.
Let’s set the tone together.
